These sweet siblings are my nieces and nephews and getting to spend time with them searching for fairies in the tall grass was the highlight of my Saturday night! No doubt we found a few bugs in the grass but I think I did my job convincing them there were fairies there as well. The little guy was not feeling well but tried to be a good sport and we made it work despite everything else going on. I love this location for it’s earthy vibe, something about it just makes me want to bring a picnic blanket and book and stay for a few hours. Thanks for trusting my choice of location, B family, glad we had the same vision!! Here are a few from our evening of fun

I have the pleasure of getting to work with this family every week and I consider that a blessing. The older sister is a light in my life and getting to see her smiling face always makes my day. The littlest one here was enamored with her siblings, what they did she did, as long as it was her way! I love the ever changing moods and personalities of 2 year olds, no moment ever goes quite as planned, that’s for sure. Although she kept us on our toes, in the end it was worth it, such a gorgeous group. Thanks M Family!!

My girl. My sweet little L. She’s a ray of sunshine no matter the day, we can always count on her for some giggles. She has so many sides to her sweet personality and we’re so grateful to get to watch her grow and change. At four, she loves the color purple, splashing in puddles, My Little Pony, pretend play, reading, mac and cheese and chocolate…that’s my girl!

Here’s L at four in the fog of the early morning. We don’t get a lot of fog in Arizona so when we do, it’s a bit of a magical experience.

For her birthday she wanted a party where “everyone could paint a masterpiece”, in her own words. Perfect party theme for a for year old and her friends, I couldn’t have come up with a better theme even if I tried. Here is a peak into her art-filled day, enjoy!

1 year later!

One year has already passed since this family first let me into their home and trusted me to capture their sweet, sweet newborn girl. She was an angel for me that day and almost a year later, she had SUCH a fun personality! Smiles galore, funny faces and lots of high fives and a few “no’s”. I love a one year old who knows what she likes and wants and this girl sire did! I think I missed blogging her newborn session last year so for a fun comparison, here’s baby E just fresh and new and then 1 year later. Happy first birthday sweet girl!!!

I first took a picture similar to this in 2009 when our daughter was just under 2. This year I decided to attempt it again, as it’s been a favorite of mine for years. With the help of my amazing husband, both kids were sleepily tucked under the tree and…perfection. I’m sure I have on my mommy goggles, but I pretty much love this! As behind as I am on blogging, I just wanted to take time to share this image and remind you all to create your own memories this holiday season, enjoy every moment of it!

I first meet B when she was 6 weeks old and then again when she turned one. Can I just tell you what a personality this gal has? I haven’t laughed quite so hard at a client in a long time. B’s momma calls her a “diva” and I can’t argue…she knows what she wants, she will get it and she will make sure you know all about it! Her facial expressions were priceless, when life settles down someday I want to do a post on the 10 different faces she made in 10 consecutive frames of shooting. What a sassy little 2 year old, love it! Enjoy your sneak, W family!

Bright, cheery, fun, I LOVE this awesome location! Really, what fits a 1 year olds personality better than these happy colors? This guy was FAST and so darn content just running my direction to inspect me and my camera. We got to meet again later in the week to smash some cake, it always proves to be a time full of laughter and fun!

A fun family doing what they do best, having FUN! My job behind the camera is to capture them as they are and I feel blessed that every year these families entrust their memories to me. …the HAPPIEST kid, ever. Seriously, the cheesy smiles were bountiful!! He knew how to work his audience, 6 adults dancing on the side of the a busy Phoenix road had to a sight to see I have so many great images from this session, can’t wait for mom, dad and loving grandparents to see them all! Robots, cake, red wagon + a cool wall made for great background but honestly, this guy would shine anywhere we put him! For now, just a few of this sweet 1 year old. Happy Birthday little guy and glad you enjoyed every single bite of your delish cake!

PCS. Photographer Child Syndrome. Both kids have it, no doubt. They see my camera out all the time, they are used to me snapping away so when I get it set in my mind to get a great shot, they are less than interested. I can’t blame them, it’s more fun just being a kid! But when my daughter asked for her own special picture time AND requested a picture with her little brother, there was no way I was saying no! We had everything set up for another session that day so she brought out a few “props” picked out an outfit and we took some adorable pictures of her. The big winner of the day? Yeah, THE highly sought after sibling shot. Happy? Check. Near each other? Check. Not looking like they are going to push the other one down? Check! Success!!! And just looking at this one makes me all teary eyed, these guys love each other so much, it’s amazing to be their momma. Sure, they have their moments, but they are both lost when the other one isn’t there. Best buds, for now at least!
